Create Your First Slide

Create Presentation allows you to create a series of slides that can be used to illustrate various areas of the map through a presentation. In the presentation menu options, from left to right, you have the Add Slide (+), Delete Slide (x), Duplicate Slide, Undo previous action, Redo previous action, Playback Options (which allows you to automatically advance to the next slide after a set amount of time), Save to save the presentation, Play to play the presentation, Bookmarks (if you have set any previously) and Search to search for an address or postcode.

For the purpose of this presentation, let’s talk about the Map Note Point, Materiales and a feature layer in Lima. Let’s start by zooming in or out to an area that will show some features from Materiales (you may need to click the Zoom In (+) or Zoom Out (-) button a few times, which is located in the top left corner of the map and you may need to turn the layer on if it currently is not, by ticking the box next to the layer to make it visible). Once your map is showing an area with a few features from Materiales, click the Add Slide (+) button from the presentation menu options to add a new slide to the Slides panel, which is to the left of the map. You’ll now need to fill out the Slide Properties for the slide, such as its Title (what do you want to call it?), Location (to set the location should you wish to pan/zoom around the area to change it before finalising the location area of the slide), Layers (the layers you wish to show in the slide), Basemap (should you wish to change the basemap for the slide) and Pop Up (to ensure that any open pop-up windows are open as part of the presentation, should you wish). For this slide, let’s give it the title First Slide and turn on/off any layers you wish; afterwards, click the Slide List button at the bottom of Slide Properties. You will now see one slide in Slides in the panel to the left of the map and that slide it titled First Slide (though not all the title may be visible).
