Overview Map Option
To now more specifically talk about the map and its elements, in the top left corner of the map, you will see the Zoom In button (+), which allows you to zoom in to an area; Home button, which takes you to the optimal zoom level and area in which you are currently located; the Zoom Out button (-), which allows you to zoom out of an area; and the Find my Location button, which uses your computer’s network to find where you are located and zoom the map to that area. In the top right corner of the map, you’ll notice a small arrow pointing downwards and to the left, which, when clicked, will expand an overview map that shows you a map that is zoomed out of your current area to give you an idea where your current area is at; to close it, you would simply need to click the arrow again, which will now be pointing upwards and to the right. The bottom left corner of the map shows a scale bar, which dynamically changes given your zoom level and area and will allow you to gauge the real size and area of features on the map. The bottom right corner of the map contains a logo for Powered By esri that links to ESRI’s main website. To move up, down, left or right on the map, you will need to click and hold your (left) mouse button on the map and drag your mouse in the direction you wish to move (known as panning). You may also zoom in to areas of the map by double (left) clicking an area with your mouse or utilising your mouse scroll wheel, if you have one, to scroll up to zoom in or down to zoom out (depending on your settings).
good lesson.
